Bennetstown, Dunboyne, Co Meath

Rossmore Civil, working directly for Glenveagh Homes on a housing development in Dunboyne to construct 578 new homes, appointed Trench Control Ltd to design and install a 23m x 21m cofferdam with additional 5.5m x 10m pumping chamber annex to a dig depth of 6.5m.

The ground conditions were particularly hard with localized boulder clay, therefor TCL needed to pre-auger the ground in order to achieve the toe depth required. In some areas the sheets refused on rock meaning a significant re-design was required to accommodate a ‘no-toe’ design where Rossmore where required to break out the rock below the toe of sheets to achieve the design depth when all 3 hydraulic frames were installed.
