Construction of a roll on roll off dock for the new Greenore to Greencastle ferry

Trench Control recently completed a piling project on behalf of L & M Keating at Greenore Co. Louth. The project involved the construction of a roll on roll off dock for the new Greenore to Greencastle ferry, a €10m project.

TCL drove 60 no. sheet piles up to 11.0m in depth to form a cofferdam, as well as 22 no. standalone tubes of up to 22.0m depth. The tidal range and strong currents presented technical challenges as well as requiring a huge degree of flexibility in working hours. TCL fabricated a bespoke piling gate suitable for driving tubes over water at our Naas premises, and installed on site.

The job however was delivered to an exacting specification and on time. Click here to download the project fact sheet.
