Next Generation Power Station, Tarbet, Co. Kerry

Atlantic Projects Company (APC) and Ansaldo Energia have partnered with SSE Thermal to construct a €300 million next generation power station on the site of the existing power station in Tarbet, Co. Kerry.

The plant will run on 100% Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) which is a sustainable biofuel and is designed to provide flexible low carbon back up power source to supplement the national grid system.

The project commenced summer 2025 and is due for completion late 2027.

Trench Control Ltd have been awarded the piling flood wall defense contract which involves the installation of 1241No VL605A driven sheet piles.
